It’s been 3 months since Nepal was hit by 7.8-magnitude earthquake. Our country is gradually rising. But aid is still important. There are several earthquake-affected villages where immediate relief supplies are insufficient. And since we have entered rebuilding phase, we need donation from generous people from around the world to rebuild our houses and schools.

Though it’s been nearly two months since the 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on April 25 and more than a month since the 7.3-magnitude major aftershock of May 12, the victims haven’t got as much help as they need. The food supply is still inadequate. There is fear of landslides in the remote areas as monsoon has just begun. The affected villagers are living in a terrible situation. And despite schools have resumed after a month-long closure, temporary classrooms haven’t been fully built.

It’s been a month since Nepal was hit by 7.8-magnitude earthquake on April 25. The situation in cities is starting to get normal. But, the situation back in the villages is still terrible. Mainly in the 8 affected districts such as Gorkha, Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Dhading, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, etc. With more than 90% of the houses collapsed or damaged, the villagers are living in temporary shelters. The food supply is inadequate. And though the fear of earthquake is already starting to subside, the fear of monsoon has appeared. The monsoon rains will surely make their condition worse as their temporary shelters aren’t that strong and landslides are more frequent in this season.

On April 25, 2015, at 11:56 am, Nepal was struck by a massive earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was in Gorkha district. And on May 12, a major aftershock with magnitude 7.3 hit us again. This time the epicenter was on the east of Kathmandu near the Chinese border. The quake and its aftershocks, which are still occurring, have killed over 8,000 Nepali people, injured about 19,000 and have affected more than 8 million. They have also destroyed more than 300,000 houses, temples, old palaces, buildings of historical and cultural significance, schools, government and business offices and part of highways. The disaster was the deadliest in Nepal in almost a century.
