Shree Ganesh Secondary School is located in Aarughat Rural Municipality–1, Manbu, Gorkha. The school was established in 2034 B.S. and is an important educational institution in the area. One of the school buildings was damaged by the earthquake and was subsequently renovated by the Government. Given the school’s condition and the need for additional facilities, Good Neighbor International and Paddhati Bikas Sewa Kendra later constructed another school building. The school currently has two buildings and provides education from Nursery to Grade 10 to approximately 413 students.
Shree Ganesh Secondary School is a crucial educational institution that serves the students of Manbu and nearby areas. Despite its importance, the school has been facing challenges due to inadequate classrooms, limited educational and sanitation facilities, etc. The existing school infrastructure is insufficient to run classes; the school has been conducting subject-specific classes in other spaces, sometimes under the staircase. The school also lacks a proper canteen facility, so it has built a temporary shed-like structure (taharo) for canteen services. Alongside this, the school lacks sufficient toilets, and due to the intricate topographical structure, there is a paucity of space for extra-curricular activities.
Comprehending these aspects, we have initiated this Project. Under this project, we shall be constructing a three-story building with four rooms on the ground floor, four rooms on the 1st floor, and a multipurpose hall on the top. The 1st floor comprises four rooms with 3 classrooms and a canteen with a Kitchen; the 2nd floor consists of 4 rooms designated for the library, science lab, computer lab, and a staff room. Alongside, 8 new toilets will be built for sanitation and hygiene, a kindergarten with various play equipment will be established, and various materials such as computers, projectors, furniture, etc., will be provided based on the needs of the school authority. The project is scheduled from June 1st 2026, to December 3rd 2028. Through this project, we aim to create a conducive learning environment for students and teachers and improve the overall quality of education. We would especially like to acknowledge our donor for helping us change this meaningful vision into reality.
