Allan Waldon
A Butcher owned with a difference...
After trekking to Everest Base Camp in April 2006 with 2 other Australian along with Prem Khatri as the Nepalese Trekking Guide and his team of porters, Alan hasn't forgotten what he saw along the way. Seeing the Nepalese children faces and the constant struggle made me want to do something. On return to Australia he realized how privileged the Australian children are with modern facilities, quality education and clean clothes that are sometimes taken for granted in the western worlds.
Alan established that there was an immediate need for school renovations along with many other basic requirements, in Prem's home village. Allan was able to seek support and donations from Individuals base in Sydney. Alan donated sausages from his Eastern Rd Quality Meats Butcher store for sausage sizzles along with the added help from Wahroonga and Pymble public schools, he has raised more than $8000 for renovations to Shree Bhairabi Primary School. With this support we have been able to employee local people while providing a new tin roof as the old one was ire-repairable and continually leaked. New wooden support frames were added to ensure the roofs stability and safety. Desks and lockers were also brought as children were studying from the floor.
Alan Waldon has been on a mission ever since, and continues his remarkable efforts to seek further support and donations from within his hometown of Turramurra New South Wales, Australia.
Alan is currently in contact with many schools and co-operations from Sydney as he has set his sights much higher, with the target to fund the new Shree Bhairabi Primary School, see this link for more information. (Bhairabi Primary School) |

Ace the Himalaya
Experience the difference...
Ace the Himalaya works closely with the Sambhav Nepal Foundation and is one of the main supporters of our foundation; they contribute support in a number of ways. Firstly they donate a percentage of business profits to the foundation on a yearly basis which support the ongoing maintenance cost required for the Bhairabi Primary school.
As Ace the Himalaya is a travel and trekking business they conduct a number of charity treks throughout the year. The charity trek itinerary combines adventure and kindness, providing the participant with lasting memories of the Himalayas while allowing them to contribute to a remote community within Nepal. From participation in this trek US$200 per person is donated to our Foundation. If you wish to participate in one of the Charity Treks click here.
Ace the Himalaya also has a number of travelers that are including a volunteer stay within the village. Volunteers have been offering their personal skills for teaching English to the school students of Dharapani and Bhairabi School, all of which contributes to creating a network of supporters. |

The Message by Diane McAuliffe
“Thank you so very much for your incredible support and inspiration while I was out there as well as your phenomenal sponsorship and pledges. You are the best!
The Nepalese people are incredibly gracious, kind and simple people. Having spent time there, I appreciate that although we cannot change the world, nor should we aspire to, our efforts and donations will simply result in enabling options for those who wish to move on beyond their local environment. The beauty here lies in the concept of creating options and thereby enabling future choices for children, via education. Equally important to mention are the natural tragedies that have befallen our neighbours in Burma and China...so there are plenty in need of our support.
It was an incredibly amazing and profound experience and one that I shall always treasure. I feel very fortunate for having the opportunity to spend time in Nepal, hike the Everest trail and be able to touch the lives of others, materially less fortunate than ourselves. Your generosity will go farther than you can possibly imagine….on behalf of the people, children and Sambhav Nepal, I thank you”.
