Proposed Project

For the existing building the proposed renovations are needed to ensure the current building is safe and structurally sound, it currently needs urgent cement restoration, as some of the walls are slowly crumbling away making the building unsafe in certain areas. If it is not repaired within a year or two the whole building will need to be demolish and rebuilt.

Additionally this project structure requires purchasing a large piece of land for the building of four fully furnished class rooms, and to furnish the library with educational books as well as extra curricular reading materials, games and activities that nurture intellectual curiosity and improve reading and critical thinking skills. The new classes will house class rooms for the expansion to operate class 9, 10 and School leaving Certificate (SLC) which will effectively turning Dharapani into the multi purpose Primary and Secondary School. A fully furnished computer room equipped with a number of computers would also provide great benefit to teachers and students to further there prospects for future opportunities. Currently the children at Dharapani Lower Secondary School have never seen a computer nor would they know how to turn one on. Basic computer knowledge is imperative for them to gain entry to College or University, computer knowledge in this day and age is a basic requirement.

Four new toilet facilities will also need to be constructed for the growing attendance of students along with a water tank to supply the entire school with constant clean water. The new land will also provide enough room to establish a playground and outdoor sporting area for all the children. An add bonus would be a generator or solar panel to enable late studies or additional classes when required.

The teachers will be replaced with quality qualified teachers and upgrade the main subjects eventually upgrade to English Medium education for English, Math's and science. The class sizes will need to be adjusted as currently there are between 30 to 51 students in one class. In addition to adjusting class sizes we would like to add extra classes for the children that need extra help with their studies.

As this school caters to both Primary and Secondary students it will be Sambhav Nepal's biggest project in addition it will affect over 15 different villages and 500 students will receive great educational benefits, from all the upgrades and improved education.

We believe in providing our higher school students with the best possible learning environment in which to study. By taking all the distractions of daily village life away and having them focus solely on their educational requirements. Hostel accommodation will be compulsory for our higher level  students as this will benefit there studies immensely and help improve their end of year results which will prepare and enable them to obtain scholarships and gain entry to the better colleges or universities in the main cities.

For us to be able to offer such a service, we need to construct a dormitory building with bunk beds, sleeping mattress and blankets, along with basic kitchen facilities to house the higher class students, this will enable them much more opportunity to gain entry to a good quality college/university in the cities or possibly even obtain a scholarship.

In future we aim to arrange a Teacher and Student exchange program, as we believe the value of cultural student exchange is an experience of a lifetime. The mixing of cultures and backgrounds provide young people with an unforgettable awareness and lifelong appreciation of each other. Students gain the knowledge skills and insights that will prepare you to learn a foreign language and to understand a new culture.

There is no better way to learn about another country, its customs and the way of life of its people than by experiencing it firsthand as a High School student exchange participant. They gain skills they could never learn by staying home: Maturity, Self Confidence and Communication while gaining a heads up in College and Personal Growth.
