To achieve the great objective of serving the nation through its community service project, Sambhav Nepal is proud to be patronized by many warm hearted enthusiasts from different corners of the world. We would like to thank the people as listed below for kindly accepting our request to help us in this great mission. We have been highly inspired by their involvement in the team and believe that their friendship would help in achieving our objective to its full extent, benefiting as many people of the rural Nepal.

Alan WaldonAlan Waldon - Sydney Australia.
Allan Waldon is the key person to start the whole project. In 2006 Allan Waldon trekked to Everest Base Camp with his son Scott Waldon and Nepalese guide Prem Khatri. Not a lot of people get to trek to the top of the world, even though this was a great experience, he was really touched by the people he met in Nepal. He found the lack of opportunity the kids get in Nepal compared to at his home country (Australia) was unbelievable. He realized the real difference our dollar would make for them to get an education, and without an education they will have no chance of good employment opportunities.  After much discussion over 6 months with his Nepalese guide he decided to set up the project to help underprivileged children and community in the Gorkha region of Nepal.

Allan Waldon owns Eastern Road Quality Meats in Turramurra. Allan is the driving force behind the project. Allan will focus on overseeing the construction of the project by communicating with the team in Nepal. Allan also needs to maintain ongoing communication with the sponsors and supporters for the project and the school generally.

Richard JakshonRichard Jackson- Sydney Australia.
Richard entered the industry in 1999 and specializes in investment advice and financial planning for self funded retirees and self managed superannuation funds. He is a Principal Advisor of the Gordon Practice Office and is a member of the Byron Capital investment committee.
Richard holds a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University and has had extensive formal training in relevant financial disciplines including a Diploma of Financial Planning from the Financial Planning Association. Richard is an ASX Accredited Listed Product Adviser and is an Affiliate (Practitioner) Member of the FPA.

Richard’s initial grounding in financial services was obtained with Westpac Banking Corporation where he worked for approximately 9 years, including a period of three years in London . Richard left Westpac in 1993 to join the family furniture manufacturing business, which provided hands-on business experience in a very competitive market.

Richard is another key person of the project; he will mainly focus on financial control and reporting for the project including overseeing disbursements and the preparation of periodic financial reports.

Kathleen SerraKathleen Serra -
Melbourne, Australia.
Trekking to Annapurna Base Camp in November 2006 (her very first trekking trip) with a group of 10 other Australians along with Prem Khatri as the Nepalese Trekking Guide and his team of porters, Kathleen was completely mesmerized by the local people and the heartfelt generosity that she experienced while stepping inside and observing the local Nepalese culture and lifestyle, for Kathleen it felt like coming home, they truly made her feel like one of the family.

Upon arriving back in Australia she knew that this trip had changed her life forever. With an immense desire to return to Nepal, little did she know, this would confirm and highlight the significant impact that Nepal has, in her life.
Kathleen wanted her next trip to be far different to the first; she wanted to get away from the general trekking routes and explore the real Nepal and participate in life as the locals do, with the outlook of social and charity work in mind.

Kathleen got the opportunity to be the first white women to ever step into Ratmate and Arupokhari village (Prem’s home villages). The local village people were fascinated to see her, as she was with them.

Her new efforts are to seek further support to establish and upgrade the Sambhav Nepal’s projects.

Heidi HealyHeidi Healy- Sydney Australia.
Heidi Healy has a track record of success in community based fund raising for schools and sporting clubs in Wahroonga, in particular Wahroonga Soccer Club and Wahroonga Public School, and in support of an orphanage in Fiji.
