Sambhav Nepal is proud to partner with many warm-hearted enthusiasts from different corners of the world. We are highly inspired by their involvement in the team and believe that our friendship would help in achieving our objectives to the full extent, benefiting as many people as possible of the rural Nepal.
Prem K Khatry
As the President of Sambhav Nepal, Prem has always had a yearning and immense heartfelt desire to develop and improve the Nepalese standard of education as well as attain economic growth in remote villages of the Gorkha district. He serves as the Board Member and the Project Chair of the Rotary Club of Mt. Everest, Lalitpur. Currently he is also operating and managing a successful travel and trekking company called Ace the Himalaya, which offers unique adventure trips and genuine experiences in trekking, peak climbing, mountaineering, rafting, wildlife safari, cultural tours along with numerous adventure activities in Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. Working in the tourism sector has helped him come in contact with many foreign nationals who've shown tremendous interest in Sambhav Nepal's work and even joined hands for the cause. Prem is a firm believer of giving something back to the local community and Sambhav Nepal is the channel to fulfilling that dream.
Allan Waldon
A
llan Waldon, an Australian businessman, is the key person in the inception of Sambhav Nepal. In 2006 Allan trekked to the Everest Base Camp with his son Scott along with their Nepalese guide, Prem. Allan was really touched by the people he met in Nepal and sympathized with their hardships and struggle. The contrast between the lives of the Nepalese children and those of his home country's, he felt, was astounding. It was clear to him the difference a dollar could make in improving the welfare of the children. Education in particular was what Allan considered the most important factor for a child’s secure future. Without proper education, a child would be vulnerable with low employment opportunities. After consulting with Prem for a few months, Allan decided to fund projects aimed at improving the lives of the underprivileged children of Gorkha. Allan focuses on overseeing the construction of the project by communicating with the team in Nepal. He is also the prime network to maintain a sound relationship with current sponsors and the contact point for other interested parties in Australia.
Louise and Jim Davis
Louise and Jim Davis have been actively involved with Sambhav Nepal, more specifically in planning and preparing the Manbu Village Healthpost project. The engineering tasks of producing the blueprint of the healthpost has been successfully completed. Their contribution is invaluable in uplifting the social welfare of the people of Manbu who have had to walk for days to reach the nearest health facility. Their generosity will go a long way in fulfilling the hopes of countless people of the region, and throught their unconditional support, Sambhav Nepal is doing its best in preparing to implement the Manbu Village Healthpost project.
Richard Jackson
Richard is another active member of Sambhav Nepal. He focuses on financial control and reporting of the projects including overseeing disbursements and the preparation of periodic financial reports. Richard specializes in investment advice and financial planning for self-funded retirees and self-managed superannuation funds. He is an authorized representative at Newell Palmer Securities and holds the Australian Financial Services License. Richard received his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Sydney University and has received extensive formal training in relevant financial disciplines including a diploma in Financial Planning from the Financial Planning Association.
The Project Nepal 2011 Team
The Project Nepal 2011 is led by a team of experts in the development and education field, with the objective of providing educational equality to the people of Nepal. The team members have visited Nepal on a number of occasions and their inspiration stems from personal experience of traveling within the remote and destitute regions of the country. They plan to develop an effective system for education using computers powered by sustainable energy. Through collaboration with Sambhav Nepal, the team seeks to provide high standard curriculum and computer-based technology from sustainable energy resources within the Gorkha District. The three-phase project will be initially implemented from the primary grades, building upon each subsequent year.

Heidi Healy
Heidi has a remarkable experience in community-based fund-raising activities, particularly in the Wahroonga Soccer Club and Wahroonga Public School, in addition to an orphanage in Fiji. She focuses on identifying social needs and implements fund-raising activities for the cause. Currently, Sambhav Nepal is seeking her expertise in possible ways to expand its operations.
Melanie Kreuzer
Since childhood, Melanie always felt intrigued by Nepal and the Himalayas. Nonethtless, born and raised in Switzerland, she never had the chance to go to Nepal. In 2007 she finally got that opportunity and spent almost two months travelling, climbing and trekking in Nepal with a close friend. Her love for the country, the mountains and the people compelled her to return back to Nepal four more times. On each visit she spent a few months in the Himalayas, during which she got to know Prem personally although they were in regular contact on a professional capacity. In early 2008, she joined Sambhav and has since visited Arupokhari on a number of occasions with an aim to provide education- and health-based support.
Kathleen Serra
While trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp in November 2006 with Prem as their guide, Kathleen was completely mesmerized by the local people and the heartfelt generosity that she received along the way. For Kathleen, the extraordinary hospitality felt like coming home. After a life-altering experience, she was certain that upon returning to Australia she would work to improve the lives of the Nepalese people who treated her like one of their own.
Kathleen got the opportunity to visit Nepal again, during the time which she avoided the general trekking route for foreigners and stepped in the harsh and remote areas of Gorkha to see the real Nepal. Kathleen got the opportunity to be the first ever Westerner to ever step into Ratmate and Arupokhari villages (Prem’s home villages). The local villagers were fascinated to see her, as she was with them. The journey has increased her understanding of the hardship that people face and strengthened her resolve. Her efforts as a part of Sambhav are to seek further support in better planning and implementing the projects to serve the needy more effectively.
Anuj Adhikary

Anuj graduated from Clark University (MA, USA) in 2010 with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Management. He went to St. Xavier's School (Lalitpur, Nepal) for high school. He has experience volunteering at an orphanage and a state-run children's hospital in Nepal, and interning at a U.S. organization dealing with immigrant issues. Following his graduation from Clark before joining Sambhav's team, Anuj (along with three team members) received the Davis Foundation's Projects for Peace grant to renovate Shanker Primary School in the Arupokhari village (Gorkha, Nepal). The project, called the Energy for Education Project, aimed to demolish an old building in Shanker and to construct a new one with advanced materials. Anuj also helped Sambhav Nepal bring the Dharapani Community Library into operation by collecting and coding the books in addition to training the school staff. He has been a part of the Sambhav family as the Project Manager since early 2011.
