How it Started?

In 2006 Allan Waldon trekked to Everest Base Camp with his Nepalese guide Prem Khatri. Prem knew that there was an immediate need for school renovations along with many other basic requirements, as its his home village. Prem knows first hand the hardship of walking long hours each day to get an education, as a child he used to walk 4 hours a day down to the local Market area and back up to his home village at the young age of 8.

Allan and Prem remain in constant contact and established that there was an urgent need for school renovations along with many other basic requirements, with the long term view of significantly improving the neglected remote communities of Arupokhari, Aruchanaute and Ratmate and The Sambhav Nepal Foundation was born with the involvement of local people of Arupokhari and Aruchanaute as founding members.
